Japanese Sakura Koinobori Fish Scale Pattern Wrapping Paper

Wrap your gifts in this Japanese pattern wrapping paper. It is a well known traditional pattern in light and dark sakura pink. You can also use this wrapping paper for your craft project. A tradtional Japanese fish scale seamless pattern in traditional Japanese colours. One of which is sakura. It is a simple abstract design of fish scale you see a lot in Japanese prints. This kind of pattern is often used on fabric for yukata or a jinbei, traditional Japanese clothes for in the hot summer months.But I have seen the pattern also those typical japanese windsocks, the Koinobori. When you think of this type of fabric, resist dyeing comes to mind. In Japan vintage techniques are roketsuzome with wax, katazome, yuzen and tsutsgaki with rice paste. A favourite method of applying paste is by means of a stencil.

I really liked this product, the picture is lovely and the colours are really nice. I wanted it to up-cycle a writing bureau and I was concerned that the paper may be too thin. But it wasn't and it worked fine. On the pictures I have uploaded the print looks a bit aged and not so vivid and new looking. As I wanted an aged patina but the actual print is clearer and the colours are brighter. The colour and prints are good.

I originally was after the bee paper and then realised I could upload a photo. I used the paper to decorate a box, the paper is good and strong to work with. The left over paper I wrapped presents and put them in the box. She loved the box so well worth doing! I was really happy with the print!
