Having spotted the baby princess, troll father wants to take her home and leave his own offspring as a replacement. Troll mother, when first seeing the child, is not very impressed:
Such a wretched little thing, troll mother said. She looks like a leek, so pale and scrawny. But I'll try to be happy with her.
Postcard inspired by John Bauer's illustration to Helena Nyblom's fairy tale Bortbytingarna (The Changelings), published in the anthology Bland tomtar och troll (Among gnomes and trolls), 1913.
