John Tyler T-Shirt

I purchased the John Tyler shirt on his birthday (March 29) and received it in time to celebrate his historic succession to the presidency. President William Henry Harrison, after only one month in office, died on April 4, 1841, at the age of 68. Notified of the president's death, Tyler took the oath of office on April 6, 1841 at the Indian Queen Hotel in Washington, DC. It was the first time that an incumbent president died in office, and Tyler set the precedent by assuming the full duties of the Executive Branch of government. The portrait of John Tyler is his official portrait in the White House. On his last day in office, Tyler signed the legislation that annexed the Texas territory to the US. The colors are vivid, and brilliantly captures Tyler, who was known as 'the President without a Party.' His nearly four years in office, caused headaches for the Whig Party. Within his first six months in office, all but one of the Cabinet members held ove from the brief Harrison tenure, resigned. Tyler, who had been a Southern democra, was placed on the Whig ticket to broaden the party's appeal. No one ever dreamed that 'Old Tippecanoe' would die in office, or figured that Tyler would assume all the duties of the presidency. He was formally expelled from the Whig party. But, he stuck to his principles.

I really liked the design of this t-shirt and the play of words on the theme of one of my fav TV series! Plus there is a panda and the sushi rolls are in order too! It's an awesome shirt and i got some nice compliments wearing it, so deffo a win win purchase! :) I also opted for the bella+canvas and the material is quite nice on that one. The combination of the print with the navy blue t-shirt colour works really well and pops out quite nicely.

Perfect for my needs, is acquiring a costume piece for my Logan's Run Sandman outfit. Smooth and excellent.
