Kandinsky Great Gate of Kiev mouse pad. Tempera, ink and watercolor illustration from 1928. Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky created this beautiful illustration for Mussorgsky’s famous musical piece Pictures at an Exhibition. The work features an abstract depiction of the gates of Kiev with beautiful blues, yellows, reds and purples along with the sharp black lines that Kandinsky frequently employed in his best abstract paintings. The sun and moon can be seen in the right and left corners. A gorgeous gift for lovers of Kandinsky, Mussorgsky, abstract illustrations, and Russian art.
