Latest garden's layout is built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife Nur Jahan, in 1619 and expanded ancient gardens dating to 2nd century when it was built during the reign of Pravarsena II. Srinagar is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, and Dal and Anchar lakes.
