Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい)
川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957)) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period. Please enjoy the world of more than 30 multi-coloured woodblock prints with deep impressions of ordinary Japanese scenes and characteristic blue. ＊Note: These images are processed and used from the National Diet Library's Digital Collection data (public domain).

I love Japanese art and culture, but when a rival calendar company stopped offering the Japanese classic calendar, I searched and found Zazzle. The Kawase Hasui Scenery Calendar is absolutely beautiful and has room for brief notes for each day. Well worth the money. The printing is flawless; the colors are perfect, and I find myself staring off into space when I look at each month's drawings as they come up.
