This Irish Kelly family crest has been hand drawn by Kevin Byrne, an Irish musican (with arundo.ie) and visual artist, based in County Cork. The Kelly coat of arms comprises a tower, lions rampant, chains and spear. The crown symbolises regal or senior authority, the tower symbolises wealth, lions are warrior animals and the chains they climb signify honour. "Turris fortis mihi Deus" is the family motto - which translates to "God is a strong tower for me" - and in Irish "Is túr láidir Dia dom."
