Kichijiro Kidani

Kichijiro Kidani was born on December 24, 1858, as the eldest son of Sakuzo Kidani in Awakizaki Village, Ishikawa County, Kaga Province. His family was a branch of the wealthy Kidani family, which was known for its merchant activities during the Kaga domain era. He made his fortune as a businessman in Kobe and returned to his hometown at the age of 63 to live a simple life. He donated large sums to students, social causes, and educational institutions without expecting anything in return. The design is based on 'Kichijiro Kidani's Family Crest' published in 'Kichijiro Kidani' by Takahisa Shimizu.
