Kichijiro Kidani Playing Cards

Kichijiro Kidani was born on December 24, 1858, as the eldest son of Sakuzo Kidani in Awakizaki Village, Ishikawa County, Kaga Province. His family was a branch of the wealthy Kidani Toemon family, which dated back to the Kaga feudal domain. He made his fortune as a businessman in Kobe, returned to his hometown at 63, and lived a simple life. He generously donated to students, social causes, and educational institutions without expecting anything in return. The design is based on the 'Kidani Family Crest' from the main documents related to the Kidani Toemon family, as published in 'Kichijiro Kidani' by Takahisa Shimizu.
