Kidsart for CHOC - Spring Time Heart Mouse Pad

This mini masterpiece was created by Olivia. She was born with a congenital heart defect and Down Syndrome. At three weeks old Olivia had cardiothoracic surgery at the CHOC Heart Institute, and began treatment for a pulmonary artery banding for her heart to be able to grow big enough for a ventricular septal defect repair. This entire process was successful at Olivia’s seven month mark, and at almost five years old she had another open-heart surgery to repair a mitral valve leak, Olivia has been free of medications ever since!
