Kroyer's "Summer Afternoon on Skagen South Beach"

“Summer Afternoon on Skagen South Beach”, 1893; by Peder Severin Krøyer, Oil on canvas; Den Hirschsprungke Samling, Copenhagen. Peder Severin Krøyer, 1851 -1909, known as P.S. Krøyer, was a Norwegian-Danish painter. He is one of the best known and beloved, and undeniably the most colourful of the Skagen Painters, a community of Danish and Nordic artists who lived, gathered or worked in Skagen, Denmark, especially during the final decades of the 1800s. Krøyer was the unofficial leader of the group. Marie, his wife, is the model for many of his paintings including his most famous work “Summer Afternoon on Skagen South Beach” with Anna Ancher and Marie Krøyer” in 1893.

Looked great and was perfect for my Nana's 99th it arrived super quick so much quicker than sending the original from the other side of the world! My Nan loved my artwork too and the picture of us inside helped her remember who I was as she has Alzheimer's. Crisp and clear. Bright and colorful true to the original artwork I created.
