"I am half sick of shadows", said the Lady of Shallot who was forbidden to look directly at reality, but instead had to look at the world through a mirror and weave what she saw in a tapestry. She was forbidden to ever go outside. She had an unrequited love for the knight Sir Lancelot who was in a tower nearby.
