Lake Freighter Manistee history Poster

The Great Lakes freighter Manistee began life during World War II as the Adirondack, a name she had for a few days before getting the name she'd have for most of her operating life -- Richard (J.) Reiss. Along the way, her appearance changed dramatically with different paint jobs reflecting different owners and charters, and two different styles of unloading boom. After entering layup for the last time in 2015, she was towed from Toledo in March 2022 for scrapping at Port Colborne, Ontario.
