This design features a painting by the English Pre-Raphaelite artist John William Waterhouse (1849–1917). It shows a woman kneeling in front of a mediaeval soldier dressed in a full suit of armour. The female figure is based on the character of Lamia from Greek mythology, influenced by John Keats’ 1819 narrative poem about her. It is a scene showing the power of love and seduction. The original painting was completed in 1905.
