The remains of the Levant Mine in Cornwall, England, lie on the north coast of a prolific tin and copper mining area in the far south-west of the County, in the parish of St. Just. Parts of the mine workings extend under the sea and the location is beautiful, wild and dramatic – lending itself perfectly as a period filming location. This mine and the surrounding area were used as a filming location in the original 1970s television series of Poldark and is now being used for the new Poldark series airing 2015 starring Aidan Turner as Captain Ross Poldark and Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza.
