The postcard presents a vintage-style painting of the SS Jeremiah O’Brien’s bow filling the left third of the frame, its dark grey hull accented by warm, golden highlights. A thick mooring rope arcs diagonally towards the right, drawing the eye to the softly rendered silhouette of Alcatraz Island under a cloud-streaked sky.
