While walking through the Alhambra in September 2019, I photographed this water lily sitting alone in a small pond in the gardens. Emerging from a sea of lily pads, the white petals and pink accents of the flower create a stark contrast with the dark green background. A seemingly minimalistic photograph, the details and colours of the flower are complex and rich in nature.
