Laura Ingalls Wilder and her "Little House on the Prairie" books always make me think of how the greatest joys in life are often the simplest pleasures. She talks about Pa playing his fiddle, Ma knitting and cooking. Here in Buffalo, N.Y., I can well imagine the long winters she describes. At the same time, thinking of the challenges her family faced in their tiny Little House in the Big Woods can remind all of us of how fortunate we are. As another author put it, God bless us, every one!
