London Water Ways Map Drawing T-Shirt

The drawing was created by me to investigate and record the water ways relating to our industrial past and serves as the first study of the city levels. The drawing originally drawn in charcoal depicts the important water ways within London, the canal - Paddington Basin and the River Thames. Formerly connecting many parts of Britain before rail, the canals brought merchandise from many parts of Britain to London. The drawing interpretation shows the canal connections from Limehouse, east London to Little Venice, west London and on towards Birmingham. The medium is charcoal which is a reflection of my connection with my hometown of Doncaster - a former coal mining town where my indian father mined following the 2nd world war.
