A 19th and 20th century composer of “Aloha ‘Oe” and numerous other works. She was born in Honolulu, O’ahu, informally adopted. the first queen regnant and the last sovereign monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaii. She wrote her autobiography, ‘Hawaii’s Queen’ during her imprisonment following the overthrow.
