Madonna Adoring the Child by Della Robbia Ceramic Knob

This is a flat reproduction of the tondo relief in glazed terracotta, "Madonna adoring the sleeping Child with St. John the Baptist as a child and two cherubs", created by the workshop of Andrea and Giovanni della Robbia, circa 1500. Baby Jesus is sleeping when both the Virgin and the little John the Baptist are adoring him with hands clasped in prayer.In the background there are an ox and a donkey and two trees. The scene is surrounded by a round frame of cherubs, surrounded on its turn by a larger frame with a garland of lilies and other withe flowers. All characters and flowers are white, the leafs of the flowers and the trees are green, the background is blue. The work is in the public domain in the United States, the European Union and all countries with a copyright term of life of the author plus 100 years or less.
