Mangalem District Albania Postcard

Mangalem District Albania Postcard

Mangalem District, known as the '1,000 Windows', is a stunning historic neighbourhood in the heart of Berat, Albania. This UNESCO World Heritage site is chraacterised by its tightly packed, white-walled ottoman houses cascading down a steep hillside towards the Osum River. The countless windows built into the facades of these homes create the unique and unforgettable visual that gives the district its nickname. It's a place where history feels palpable, with winding cobblestone streets leading past traditional shops, mosques, and stone structures, all dominated by the ancient Berat Castle at the hilltop. The district represents an outstanding example of well-preserved Ottoman architecture and cultural coexistence. Walking through Mangalem's narrow alleyways offers visitors a glimpse into centuries of history, with its unique layout reflecting a mix of religious and cultural influences. The Osum River bridges Mangalem to the Gorica district across the water, providing a beautiful perspective of the iconic window-filled slopes. Berat is often called the 'Museum City' for its remarkably intact mediaeval character, and Mangalem is its vibrant, living heart, inviting exploration and offering breathtaking views at every turn.

Bought 10 Shakespeare quotes postcards and have framed them individually and placed them around the house Love them, some are funny and some are deep and meaningful! Lovely background on some, excellent printed words. A couple of plain white cards with black print - very stricking

My order was probably an awkward one! I asked for a range of different fine-art prints, in postcard size. It was all freshly printed, delivered quickly and at a very reasonable price. Best quality matt finish I've seen on a fine-art print.

These cards are great quality, I use them as enclosure cards for my business! Hey are a little pricey but you definitely get the quality and professionalism! Repurchased a few times now and will continue to do so :). Beautiful, nice sheen on them, sharp and clear
