No the mat hasn't an oil slick on it, but it sure does look luxuriously wet. It's more comfy than sitting in a cedar. I can say that for sure because I live on Cedar Hill Farm, and lumber Jill has hauled some cedar. I only wish I could send you the sweet refresment of scent these trees exude with the pillow. Actually I could send it separately. This is a tree, originally cedar, painted into golden marble, everlasting hues of cedar juniper berry, red-orange by sight, rings of age very, rests birds of flight.

I bought this to practice pop ups and surf stances and with my dodgy knees it’s perfect. High quality print, not your usual Mat, memory foam style
