Marcello Dudovich Art Deco Polar Bear Padova
Marcello Dudovich was an Italian painter, illustrator, and poster designer in the early 1900s and was considered one of the progenitors of Italian poster design. In his early years he worked in Milan and Bologna and built a renowned career as an illustrator. Dudivich is celebrated as one of Italy's greatest poster artists and was influenced by many contemporary artists but ultimately his reputation comes from his having developed his own distinctive and richly coloured style. This Art Deco Italian advertising poster depicts a lady in bright red costume with matching umbrella struggling against a brisk wind. This powerful illustration depicts a beautiful woman wearing a bright red dress with a thick fur coat thrown over her shoulders riding on a giant polar bear with large snowflakes falling around her.
