ON APRIL 22, 2017, PHILLY WILL WALK OUT OF THE LAB AND INTO THE STREET
Philadelphia, PA
About
About this campaign The March for Science is a celebration of science. It's not about scientists or politicians, it is about the very real role that science plays in each of our lives and the need to respect and encourage research that gives us insight into the world. Recent shifts in public policy and changes in the public discourse have illuminated that we need to do better at communicating the importance of science in everyday life and engaging more routinely with our communities. To combat this problem, scientists, science communicators, and science supporters will take to the streets on Earth Day, April 22nd 2017. The March for Science will take place in Washington DC along with 100s of cities worldwide hosting satellite marches. Philadelphia will join these cities during our March for Science PHL event. The March for Science champions the scientific process as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for continued support for science that upholds the common good. And we ask our political leaders and policymakers to enact evidence-based policies in the public interest. Specific details of the Philadelphia march, including the exact time and route, are currently being considered and will be released soon. Please follow our social media pages and website for the most up-to-date information. The March for Science PHL is currently being coordinated in partnership with the Freethought Society.
