Marina Corta, Lipari - Square Magnet
Lipari is the largest and most populated of the Aeolian Islands, a volcanic archipelago off the coast of Sicily. There are five towns: Lipari, Canneto, Acquacalda, Quattropiani and Pianoconte. Lipari town is centred around a large fortified castle, overlooked from Piazza Mazzini and built by the Spaniards in the 16th century and very interesting to explore. An impressive archaeological museum, housed in the buildings around the Duomo, in the upper town of Lipari, still surrounded by old city walls. Also quite impressive are the white shiny pumice quarries directly overlooking the sea, giving the water an amazing turquoise colour.
