Maru ni Sangai-bishi (circle with triple diamond) is a family crest. The diamond shape is described in 'Monsho' (family crests), written by Masami Takeda, an upper painter, published in 1925, as a combination of two equilateral triangles. However, the book states that if a crest is made with this diamond shape, it will look too short and weak. It then explains how to create a crest diamond... The Matsukawa-bishi (pine bark diamond) and Sangai-bishi (triple diamond) are created from a geometric diamond, not a crest diamond. This linen paper combined with my design and the printing is more beautiful than I expected. This was a test run which I learned a great deal on (how important it is to wear my glasses!). It feels lovely to the touch; the texture is irresistable, perfect for finely printed wedding invites and announcements. The design is exactly like the photo mock up, the colors, crispness, etc, I couldn't be happier. I recommend customers that make these from scratch to use a template for accurateness of measurements and distances, another valuable lesson learned from my test run!
