About This Design
Mary Queen of Scots Stuart Tartan Tea Towel
Framed in a yellow oval in the centre of the towel is a vintage black and white illustration of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, from Lodge's portrait of the doomed queen in Sir Walter Scott's book, Tales of a Grandfather, published in Edinburgh in 1869. As everyone knows, Mary fled from Scotland to seek sanctuary in England only to be imprisoned then beheaded by order of Queen Elizabeth I. Beside Mary is a blue speech balloon with the words, Keep the heid, which is Scots for keep the head. Good advice is a hot kitchen. The background pattern is the Royal Stuart, or Stewart, clan tartan plaid.

I was delighted with the beautiful tea towels, the design looked really lovely. I adore garden ponds and these towels and other products I ordered with the same design will bring me so much pleasure. My garden is too small for a real pond. If you love ponds and wildlife this design is for you!

They absorb so well and wash up really nicely not losing their colour at all. They are expensive but in my opinion they are well worth the money. Yes they turned out perfectly to match my new kitchen
