Matcha Green Tea Japanese Calligraphy Mug

A kanji is the Japanese word for Chinese character. Chinese characters represent an idea into one character. Typically, one part of the kanji is the meaning of the character, while the other gives it the sound. They are usually combined with other kanji to make complex words. The word for matcha green tea in Japanese kanji is 抹茶 (pronounced as ma-ccha.) It uses the kanji for rub or paint, and green tea. The paint kanji looks weird in this word, until you realize, in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, it looks like ink! The calligraphy was handwritten by me on a tablet. The light green lines on the mug add a cute touch. This Japanese mug is perfect for some hot matcha tea!
