Matsukawabushi Stationery

[Matsukawa Bishi] Bishi-mon (Diamond Crest), published in 1925, was written by Masami Takeda, who was an expert painter, in "Monsho" (Emblem), "The shape of two equilateral triangles is a diamond" (Geometric Bishi). However, "Monsho" states that if you make a crest with this diamond, the height of the diamond is too low and it looks poor, and explains the following indexing method (Monsho no Bishi)...The Matsubakabishi and the Mikaishi are drawn from the geometric diamond, not from the diamond of the crest. (Reference: "The Beauty of the Crest Told by the Master Painter Who Talks About His Family Crest" written by Tsumao AWASAKA.)

This linen paper combined with my design and the printing is more beautiful than I expected. This was a test run which I learned a great deal on (how important it is to wear my glasses!). It feels lovely to the touch; the texture is irresistable, perfect for finely printed wedding invites and announcements. The design is exactly like the photo mock up, the colors, crispness, etc, I couldn't be happier. I recommend customers that make these from scratch to use a template for accurateness of measurements and distances, another valuable lesson learned from my test run!
