Maubisse Town Timor-Leste Postcard

Perched high in the rugged mountains of the Ainaro Municipality, Maubisse is a mist-shrouded town known for its cool climate and breathtaking alpine scenery. It serves as a gateway to Mount Ramelau, the highest peak in Timor-Leste, and is chraacterised by its rolling green hills, traditional circular 'lulik' houses, and remnant Portuguese colonial architecture. The town offers a serene escape from the tropical heat of the coast, surrounded by coffee plantations and pine forests. The centerpiece of the town is the Pousada de Maubisse, a historic guesthouse originally built as a residence for the Portuguese governor.
