Menteith Scotland District Tartan Satin Ribbon

Overall, I'm just so pleased to have found ribbon in my tartan,which is difficult to find! The ribbon is heavy duty and stiff, and printed with the tartan, it looked nice in the decorations at my burns night party. However, there were a few disappointing things about it: 1. It is only printed on one side which leaves the back side white. When combined with the stiffness of the ribbon, the one sided printing made it impossible to make nice looking bows, which was one of the things I had hoped to make. 2. The ribbon is very prone to fraying when cut. I had hoped to avoid this by upgrading from the satin to the grosgrain, but it didn't help. 3. The most disappointing thing of all was that I only made it through half of my decorations! Suspecting something was wrong, I even went back and measured everything I made and it only came to 15 ft/5 yds not the 10 yds/ 30 ft that was promised on the roll (and that I paid for)! I also ordered the 3" wide ribbon, but that roll is still going, so it must be the full 10 yds, the 1.5 inch ribbon certainly wasn't. The printing was good, no smears or missed spots. The only thing I would say is that this pattern (menteith district) is a little to dark overall, on all the things I ordered (gift wrap, ribbon and phone case). It is hard to distinguish the green and the blue. Perhaps using a lighter green would help? Or maybe lightening up the overall tone a bit, without losing the saturation?
