Mount Elbrus (The Highest Mountain in Europe) Ceramic Knob

This design features a beautiful image of Mount Elbrus, which is both the highest mountain in Russia and the highest mountain on the entire continent of Europe. Mount Elbrus is a dormant volcano that rises almost 6,000 metres above sea level. It is the tenth-most prominent peak in the world. The mountain is situated in the Caucasus Mountains of Southern Russia, in the Russian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. Elbrus has two summits, both of which are dormant volcanic domes. The eastern summit was first climbed in 1829 by Khillar Khachirov, while the western summit was first reached in 1874 by a British expedition led by F. Crauford Grove and including Frederick Gardner, Horace Walker and the Swiss guide Peter Knubel.
