Mount Fuji in Moonlight - Golden: Ceramic Ornament

Mount Fuji has been depicted by many artists. This very, very interesting work was created in Japan, in the 19th century (artist unknown). Look closely, and you can see the geese flying beneath the clouds. This is a slightly modified work. The original can be found on a box. The title for that item is a long one and refers to both the outside and inside of the box. Since the work presented here is only from the outside of the box, the title of that item has been shortened: "Box for Inkstone and Writing Implements (Suzuribako) with Geese against Mount Fuji in Moonlight."
