The magnificent Rieger organ was installed in the Christchurch Town Hall in 1997, but has been silenced since 2010 because of devastating earthquakes that have destroyed a lot of the city, and closed the Town Hall - hopefully only 'temporarily". The organ itself is OK but it is possible it may have to be shifted. So this, whichever way you look at it, an historic picture. If you're looking for the perfect Christmas card for an organist or musician, this would hit the mark! The front reads "Let the Pealing organ blow!" and the text inside is "Merry Christmas". The caption is on the inside of the card.
