Nativity Scene in Garden with Fauna Card

This painting shows Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus with overlapping halos in a colourful flowering garden with birds, butterflies, and a small town in the distance. It has an Asian flair. My mother used a method described as "Tu-Aunqua" where the design is worked out on tissue paper, then transferred onto paper backed silk fabric. The design is coloured in with oil paints. Based on an exhibit brochure about my mother's work, the method stems from process used in making large murals. She learned the process from her mother.
