Neptunes Throne

This is a great piece for anyone who is still looking for Nemo; it is a piece inspired by the sea and fantasy legends. Like a house designed to fit in with a natural environment, I wanted a throne for Neptune, the god of the sea, that was both of the sea, and yet subtly glorious and standing out in the context. I did not want something so glorious that it seemed out of place. You see a gleaming framework of the throne in the shape of kept with jewel-like accessories. This was the second piece I made where I use a double background to create depth but here I did more with shadows and foreground. In this piece I saw a rough beauty in the throne that I wanted to bring out. Notice the roughness of the coral in the background. I see the sea and a place of beauty but lacking in smoothness. If you look at my artwork you will notice the one consistency is the lack of consistency. I try to make each piece different from all the others. With each piece I try something new and try to learn something in the process making each piece a process of self discovery.
