Nerius Manuscript Illumination Italian Art Easter Metal Tree Decoration

Created around 1320, the painting shown on this elegant ornament is by Italian painter Nerius, depicting two scenes from the Easter story. Firstly, the holy women approach the tomb of Jesus but find it empty. Below, the women meet the resurrected Jesus as they leave.
