A light-hearted look the traditional 'horno' (pronounced "orno" [oven]) of my native state of New Mexico. Here, the horno serves as the base to an adobe 'snowman.' The state bird, Roadrunner, and a ristra (string of chile) of chile hang from the branch-arms of the snowman. Believe me, we get plenty of snow in northern New Mexico and in the high mountain ranges throughout the state.
