NGC 6888, the Crescent Nebula Mug

This is NGC 6888, the Crescent Nebula, an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus. It was discovered by William Herschel in 1792. Its apparent magnitude is about 7.4, though it’s diffuse and faint for visual observing, requiring a large aperture telescope, and is about 18 x 12 arcminutes, visually. Imaged on Vaonis Stellina in three sessions in 2023.
