Nosy Emu Poster

The Australian Emu is the second largest bird in the world behind the Ostrich. They can reach up to 2 metres (6.6 ft) in height. After the female lays the egg, it is the male that sits on it and stays with it until it hatches. Emus usually only have one egg per lay, occassionally but rarely they may have two. Each year that the female lays an egg, the eggs get bigger. Emu eggs are often carved or painted with Aboriginal Dreamtime.
