This card is made from an early 1900 photograph of the most famous of Notre Dame’s gargoyles. Called le styge, or the vampire, this brooding statue presents a somewhat comical visage, forever contemplating the city of Paris in a somewhat bored manner. Because of the age of this photograph, the image represents a fleeting snapshot in time.
