Double hemisphere hand coloured map of the world from 1642, by Pierre Mariette, based upon the earlier map of Hondius from 1617. Embelished with allegorical spandrel vigenttes representing celestial hemispheres, north and south poles, sailing ships and sea monsters. Shows North America extending to Japan, course of the St. Laurence River ends in the American Southwest, Japan shown as a oddly shaped island, also shows Great wall of China. Map includes detail notations from Marco Polo, most notably

The puzzle was ok. The pieces were really small and they don’t include a blueprint to use. Which would be fine if the photo on the front of the box was larger, but it’s also very small and not really useful for details. I don’t think I’d buy another one from Zazzle until they start providing at least some sort of reference photo. .
