Numbat (Myrmecobius fasciatus) Tote Bag

The Numbat (Myrmecobius fasciatus) is a small carnivorous marsupial from Australia. It eats termites, as many as 20,000 per day. This Australian marsupial is our only mammal that is solely active during the day. They give birth to 4 babies which are about 2 cm long. They don’t have pouches like other marsupials, but have longer hair on their bellies to keep their young warm and protected. They are the state emblem of Western Australia (WA). Once common in the southern parts of Australia, they are now endangered, and only found in WA. Design by Chrissy Wild, the Australian Natural History Illustrator.
