October Grass (v2) no border Poster

I have another version of this piece with a border. You can see it in my gallery. This is another nature inspired piece. For this one, I also take inspiration from memories from my childhood in Minnesota of autumn when the leaves on trees change to a range of brilliant colours. Even the fields of grass begin to turn brown and yellow. Another thing I remember about Minnesota is the wonderful sunsets. So, along with the autumn colouring in the centerpiece, I have worked sunset colouring into the background. The background also reflects a fascination I have with fabric textures and patterns. This is not the only piece in my collection that reflects that. Because of the textures I ended up with from the gel inks on paper, I wanted to end up with the impression of a rustic looking wood sculpture. If you look at it closely, you can see the roughly finished nature of some of the parts and the appearance of being dry brushed. You can see the grains of the wood resulting from the strokes I make of different coloured gel pens. If you look at my artwork you will notice the one consistency is the lack of consistency. I try to make each piece different from all the others. With each piece I try something new and try to learn something in the process making each piece a process of self discovery.
