Old Mother - Print or Poster
Old Mother is one of the oil paintings I did while living in Okinawa in 1982. The tree was one of the ones on the base, which fascinated me. It was huge, and had the most amazing root and branch system. It looked like part of a Mother Goddess, so that's how I painted it. There was a drought in Okinawa at the time, so I painted her knitting a stream from the moisture in the air, which falls from her lap in a waterfall to bring life to everything. The original was painted in oils on illustration board, and the matted area was roughly 16x20 inches. It has an oval mat as part of the print, because that was the only mat cutter I had access to at the time, and for some reason that seemed sound to me back then, I painted the image to the size of the mat, and barely a smidge beyond it!

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame.
This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again.
One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up.
Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font.
Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
