Written by Barbara Casey in 2001, this poem made its public debut on Earth Day 2017... when our planet faces a bleaker future than we ever imagined was possible. Who would have thought that the earth's public sector stewards would regress in the attempts to clean the air we breathe and the water we drink. But as the poem points out... each of us holds the key to healing the planet and improving the conditions in which we live.
