Original Vintage Christmas Art Tea Towel

This lovely little water color was one of many that my grandmother, artist Ethel Sweet (1911-2008), painted as an original greeting card when she was alive. Sometimes, she'd add stickers or glitter to her artwork on the cards. As an artist, she actually began her career doing advertising illustrations for department stores that ran in newspapers, so you could say she was the first 'art director' I ever knew. She painted with oils and acrylics through the mid-century and in her later years became an adept water colorist. She even became a Watercolor Instructor in La Jolla in her 90s! I've saved many of her little original cards and by creating products on here with them I can share her work with others and hope it makes them happy. I know that would make her happy.
