The Pacific Sun is a part of the Bering Sea crab fishing fleet. The Pacific Sun fishes for opillio crab, commonly known as "snow crab", and for Alaskan King Crab. The Bering Sea fishing fleet works out of the International Port of Dutch Harbour, Alaska, which is located on Unalaska Island. Unalaska Island is a member of the Aleutian Islands which stretch out between the Pacific Ocean and the Bering Sea. The Aleutians have their beginning just off of the Alaskan Penninsula. Unalaska Island has been the centre of operations for the crab fishing industry since its beginning.
