Palmer House Golden Peacock Doors Ceramic Ornament

These famed doors pay homage to Chicago’s first incorporated business, the “House of Peacock”, an emporium of fine jewellery located in the Palmer House and founded by Elijah Peacock in 1837. The design is that of Louis Comfort Tiffany and each of the 3 doors weighs more than half a tonne and is valued at more than a million dollars. I completed this illustration using a B&W "stipple" technique with watercolor tones added. I hope this magical illustration brings back happy memories for you!
